As others have sent greetings of the season(s) via individual threads, so is it appropriate on this, the eve of that modern and unique day of celebration, to remind one and all of Festivus (Dec 23, traditionally).
'Twas the night before Festivus, when all through the site,
The rest of us were calm, even those on the right;
No stockings were hung, the pole stood without light,
And damn sure no one thought that St. Nick was in flight.
The trolls were all restless, trying to sleep in their cot,
Hoping tomorrow's traditions would be forgot;
Airing of grievances to be discussed at some length,
And later to compete in the feats of strength.
On deciding Christmas or Solstice was the best day,
Amongst most it was not worth the fray;
While any argument here would get some in a lather,
It would be best to keep it in Radio Chatter.
Without the ceremony of celebrations non-secular,
And none of the crassness of commercial spectacular;
There is a day for all of the rest of us,
And that is the odd one called simply Festivus.
