- Never served due to health issues. Currently on disability and am wanting to write a novel distinguishing Canada, Canadian Multiculturalism and the Canadian Forces. Applied to be a Sapper at 19 years of age, had wanted to be one since I was about 13 years old, I knew my health would never allow me in but I could not walk away without trying. I am now housebound and have been for several years. Don't ask me if this writing thing is going to work but I definitely have one thing in my favour...Time. :)
