About Me: Daniel DS Smith
Since a young age I have been fascinated by the Army, considering how I grew up I always looked for was to survive out in the wild and the urban areas I surrounded. This endeavor included wild food identification and shelter building. I organized paintball competitions with my friends as a pre-teen and camped outdoors. I was always travelling on foot or manual locomotion. I began in the work force when I was thirteen years old as a wood harvester with my grandfather on his forested acreage. I was adopted by my father Tony and my mother Sandra is also still living. My biological father Daniel Sr. is deceased. My grandfather on the side of my aboriginal bloodline was a military veteran before he passed away and resided on American Indian reserve Tobique First Nation, Perth Andover, New Brunswick. I was born a Canadian resident but trace my ancestral roots back to Europe with a mixed ethnicity of Basque, French, Irish, Welsh, Scottish and Spanish on the Caucasian side of my genetics.
I moved out to the west side of Canada within the last two years and currently reside in Calgary, Alberta. I am now thirty-two years old and trying to start over after a separation from my ex-common-law wife. I have found it very difficult to settle in a job or home and I have needed to continue moving on for a number of years. I don't really mind because I have a mentality of going forward from a young age, since my mother has shifted around considerably in life. I was forced to leave my family homes when I was seventeen years old and I have lived without family ever since. Relying on my own intuition and where it can lead me is the only thing that has kept me alive to this day. I have never served a jail or prison sentence or been accused of any serious threat to people.
I have a intrinsic artistic side to creative expression that I have worked on since an early age. Having been published for poetry in various book collections I have also extended my vision for artistry into social media, drawings and philosophical ideations. Martial arts has given me the perspective of choreography and freedom expression but also self-control, resilience and self-discipline. I enjoy video games when I have down time but usually I am trying to pick up new avenues of understanding by outdoor navigation and learning my surroundings. I really do strive for stability wherever I go.
I have a spiritual practice in life that has to do with daily rituals and thankfulness for whatever I have at my disposal. I consider myself a multi-theist and non-biased toward any other cultural or spiritual belief systems others have. I have the mindset that if it will not hurt anyone, it can be left alone. I have learned to take on many things at once and manage myself accordingly when learning new perspectives. My spiritual belief system is in everything from Christianity, Middle Eastern Philosophy, Esoterism, Gnosticism and Nature Worship.
I have a earnest drive to be a better version of who I am today and who I could be tomorrow. My attributes from those who know me, would consider me intelligent, wise, strong, self-sacrificing, determined, knowledgeable and relatable and reliable.
